Blink Parking: The Natural Digital Choice for Parking

Blink parking is becoming the natural digital choice for paying for parking in paid zones.
A study by Alpha Research, presented at Urban Mobility NEXT 2026, reports rapid growth in users and significant potential for further development of the service. Between June 15 and September 15, the service will also be available with a 20% discount.
Sofia, June 15, 2026 – The number of blink parking users has increased by nearly 65% in just four months, making it one of the fastest‑adopted new payment services. Nearly half of the drivers who use paid parking zones say they are willing to use the service.
These are the findings of a sociological study conducted by Alpha Research on behalf of BORICA, presented during the Urban Mobility NEXT 2026 conference organized by the Bulgarian Association for Parking and Sustainable Urban Mobility.
The research analyzes the attitudes and behavior of Bulgarian consumers regarding mobile banking, paid parking and the potential development of blink parking as part of the digital transformation of urban mobility.
According to the data, as of May 2026 59% of Bulgarian adults use mobile banking, while among drivers who park in paid zones the share reaches 79%. This high level of digital readiness creates favorable conditions for the wider adoption of services such as blink parking.
"Consumers are increasingly looking for services that save time and combine different everyday activities within one secure digital environment. Blink parking is a natural extension of mobile banking and a good example of how financial technologies can make urban environments more convenient."
— Stoilka Arsova, Director of the National Card and Payment Scheme – bcard blink
According to the research, the strongest competitive advantage of blink parking is the absence of additional payment fees, identified by more than half of respondents as the most important feature of the service. Other highly valued benefits include the ability to track remaining parking time, confirmation of successful payment and the convenience of accessing all services through the bank's mobile application.
The analysis shows that the service could reach 275,000 users in the short term and up to 1.1 million users in the medium term.
"The presented results confirm that the digitalization of urban services is no longer a question of the future, but of implementation speed."
— Nikola Rogachev, Chairman of the Bulgarian Association for Parking and Sustainable Urban Mobility
A qualitative study conducted among municipal representatives also shows positive attitudes toward the service. Participants described blink parking as "the future", "an innovation" and "a modern way of payment" that makes life easier for both residents and visitors.
Between June 15 and September 15, 2026, parking payments made through blink parking in mobile banking applications will receive a 20% discount, automatically applied to each payment during the campaign period.
